Davies Turner rises in Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 list

by admin

dtDavies Turner, the long-established international freight and logistics company, has remained as one of a handful of freight and logistics companies to be included in the latest Sunday Times and Grant Thornton Top Track 250 list.

The company improved its previous ranking to reach 226th by turnover and usefully higher by profitability in the league table of Britain’s biggest mid-market independent companies by their latest audited annual accounts.

Despite the challenges of a recovering economy, the Sunday Times praised those on the list for investing in their businesses and positioning themselves to benefit from future growth opportunities.

Davies Turner provides a comprehensive portfolio of multimodal freight transport and international logistics services to support a diverse client base comprising manufacturers, traders, retailers, governments and international aid agencies.

In business and under the same family ownership since 1870, it has been Davies Turner’s objective and achievement to satisfy the international freight and supply chain needs of its clients and overseas partners for almost 150 years. The company’s network in the UK and Ireland consists of more than 20 branches and distribution centres, many of them purpose-built freeholds in the company’s growing property portfolio.

Says Davies Turner Chairman, Philip Stephenson: “To be one of only a handful of freight forwarding and logistics companies among Britain’s biggest mid-market independents makes me very proud on behalf of all our staff and is a testimony to the massive investment that we have made in our facilities, systems, services and training over the last 25 years.”
