The Institute of Export’s flagship international trade qualifications are boosting the skills of government advisers helping UK companies to grow their businesses through exporting.
Sixteen of UK Export Finance’s (UKEF) 19 export finance advisers (EFAs) are currently studying for the IOE Diploma in International Trade (DIT), with several due to complete it by the end of the year and all of them expected to complete the diploma in 18 months. UKEF also has three Specialist Export Finance Advisers for mid-sized businesses.
Said Patrick Crowley, Operations Manager for UKEF’s Trade Finance & Insurance Solutions: “UKEF is keen for its advisers to continue widening their knowledge about international trade. By undertaking this qualification, our EFAs are able to offer a consistent quality of service to UK exporters. The IOE is a respected and well established authority in global trade and having our EFAs accredited by the institute, demonstrates to UK exporters that our advisers have the expertise to help them access the export finance they need.”
IOE Director General, Lesley Batchelor OBE, commented: “The Institute of Export is pleased to be playing a pivotal role in helping UKEF export advisers enhance their international trade skills which will in turn help British businesses trading overseas. We look forward to enjoying a long and fruitful partnership with them.”
