GAC 01072014Installation of piles
December 24, 2014, Singapore, Jurong Port

From 24 December 2014 to 31 January 2015, work to install piles near Exxonmobil Berth 7, Jurong Island, will be carried out.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.164 of 2014, the work will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working areas bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 01¢ª 17.462’N / 103¢ª 41.125’E

2) 01¢ª 17.462’N / 103¢ª 41.182’E

3) 01¢ª 17.445’N / 103¢ª 41.182’E

4) 01¢ª 17.445’N / 103¢ª 41.125’E

A crane barge assisted by tug boats will be used to install the piles and staging.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);

and

e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Repair work at Second Bukom Beacon

From 24 December 2014 to 16 January 2015, repair works will be carried out at the Second Bukom Beacon, off Jong Fairway.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.161 of 2014, the work will be conducted between 0800 and 1900 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 01¢ª 14.223’N / 103¢ª 46.423’E

2) 01¢ª 14.210’N / 103¢ª 46.489’E

3) 01¢ª 14.134’N / 103¢ª 46.489’E

4) 01¢ª 14.134’N / 103¢ª 46.414’E

5) 01¢ª 14.180’N / 103¢ª 46.400’E

Repair work involves replacing of platforms and steel piles.

A safety boat will be on the lookout during the operation to keep vessels from entering the work area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);

and

e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.

Bosphorus to close to traffic for bridge works

The Bosphorus will be closed to all transit traffic in both directions from 06:00 to 17:00 hours tomorrow (25 December) due to on the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge.

Masters of your vessels trading in the area must act in line with VTS instructions and take all related precautions accordingly.
