GAC 01072014Change to Daylight Pilot Boarding Times

The boarding times for pilots for daylight restricted vessels at Freeport have changed with effect from today (3 February).

The first pilot boarding time is at 0700 hours local time and the last at 1700 hours local time.

Daylight Saving Time will start on Sunday March 8, after which the first pilot boarding time will be 0730 hours local time, and the last at 1830 hours local time.

Rock revetment construction at Tuas reclamation site

From 7 February to 7 May, rock revetment construction work will be conducted in the southwest part of Tuas reclamation site.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marie Notice No.12 of 2015, the works will be carried out 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 01 deg. 13.599’N / 103 deg. 36.306’E

2) 01 deg. 13.599’N / 103 deg. 36.460’E

3) 01 deg. 13.305’N / 103 deg. 36.460’E

4) 01 deg. 13.305’N / 103 deg. 36.306’E

Rock revetment work involves the construction and repair of the existing rock revetment. Excavator will be used for the laying of geotextile panels and rocks.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);

and

e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
