Ports reopened after Tropical Cyclone
February 23, 2015, Australia, Gladstone

Central Queensland ports have re-opened after the passage of Tropical Cyclone ‘Marcia’.

The Port of Gladstone re-opened to shipping movements from 1200 on Saturday (21 February). No significant damage occurred to port infrastructure.

Port Alma and Bundaberg Ports are opened to daylight only movement by small commercial and recreational vessels. The ports remain closed to trade shipping as additional flood waters are expected in the coming days and the depths available will require checking once these have subsided. For Port Alma there have been reports of leading lights extinguished, buoys out of position and significant debris in the vicinity of the channels. The depths available will also require checking once the debris and flood water flow has subsided.

The ports and terminals at Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay re-opened from approximately 0900 on Friday 20 February with first shipping movements from 1400 the same day.
