The Flexitank Division of the Container Owners Association was established in 2010. All COA Flexitank Members are members of this Division (and remain Associate Members of the COA). The aim of the Division is to improve the quality of flexitank production and operation, thereby reducing flexitank leakages and damage to containers. This is being achieved through:
Spreading good practice in the industry, including: improved operations, fitting and container selection (via the COA Flexitank Code of Practice)
Increasing quality through minimum performance criteria of the manufacturing and material testing (via the PAS 1008)
Providing Shipping Lines and Cargo Shippers with a regularly updated Flexitank Quality Management List (FMQL)
Since the beginning of this year, work has been done to develop the activities of the Division, to improve the information that is provided to COA Flexitank Members, and to ensure that Shipping Lines are informed of latest developments.
