GAC 01072014Dredging off NSL Oilchem, East Samulin Basin

From 20 April to 20 August, dredging works will be carried out off NSL Oilchem.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.41 of 2015, the works will be conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

1) 01 deg. 18.365’N / 103 deg. 41.907’E

2) 01 deg. 18.353’N / 103 deg. 41.895’E

3) 01 deg. 18.342’N / 103 deg. 41.907’E

4) 01 deg. 18.333’N / 103 deg. 41.901’E

5) 01 deg. 18.312’N / 103 deg. 41.923’E

6) 01 deg. 18.320’N / 103 deg. 41.936’E

7) 01 deg. 18.335’N / 103 deg. 41.936’E

Dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers held by anchors. The dredged materials will be loaded onto hopper barges and transported to designated dumping ground by tug boats.

A safety boat will be in attendance to warn ad re-direct craft in the area to keep clear of the working area.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:

a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;

b) Maintain a proper lookout;

c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;

d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);

and

e) Communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
