Valletta, Malta, 5 May 2015: essDOCS, the leading enabler of paperless trade, today announced it has won Global Finance magazine’s Innovators 2015 – Transaction Services Award for its CargoDocs BPO+ solution.
The prestigious accolade, recognizing the world’s most innovative banks and fintech companies in treasury and transaction services, follows the first ever CargoDocs BPO+ transaction announced by the company earlier in April 2015.
Referencing the OECD’s Oslo Manual for innovation, Global Finance magazine selected essDOCS for its contribution to ‘product innovation’; namely for taking an innovative instrument used in securing & financing international trade – SWIFT & the ICC’s Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) – and offering a fully digitized trade finance tool by combining Bank Payment Obligation with eDocs, particularly the electronic bill of lading (eB/L).
According to a recent Global Finance press release, “all selections were made by the editorial board of Global Finance, who considered nominations and submissions, key research and the input of experts to evaluate those banks and service providers that stand out for their transformative products and solutions.”
essDOCS CEO, Alexander Goulandris, said: “We’re honoured to have been selected by Global Finance, and would like to extend a warmest thanks to our technology partners, SWIFT, and the essDOCS bank and corporate customers who helped make CargoDocs BPO+ a reality. We firmly stand by the word ‘innovation’ for BPO+, and see it as the single most cutting-edge solution in the market today for commodity finance.”
The Innovators 2015 list will be published in the magazine’s upcoming June issue, with more details on why each organization was selected and an in-depth report on how each winner is contributing to changing the global transaction services landscape.
