image006(Birkeroed, Denmark – June 2, 2015) – (Marine NewsWire) Danelec Marine and Radio Holland, part of Imtech Marine, have teamed up to create worldwide standardized pricing for the installation of Danelec Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs) and Simplified VDRs (S-VDRs).

Under the agreement, Radio Holland’s global network of service stations will perform VDR installations under a fixed-price arrangement, including labor and expenses. The installation pricing covers Danelec VDRs and S-VDRs for retrofits and newbuilds.

“This cooperation is a real benefit for our customers because Radio Holland’s technicians are highly experienced and have been working on Danelec VDRs for many years, which means they have optimized the installation procedures, ” said Hans Ottosen, CEO of Danelec Marine. “Therefore, we are able to offer this ‘no surprise – no risk’ fixed installation price.”

Combining Danelec’s product quality with Radio Holland’s extensive global reach provides a very competitive product and service solution to shipowners, according to Ottosen. “The agreement with Imtech Marine, one of the world’s largest maritime service companies, is a key element in our strategy to provide the best value to our customers in terms of their overall cost of ownership.”

Ottosen noted that Danelec Marine has developed a series of conversion kits with pre-drilled adaptor plates, and serial, digital and analogue interfaces, to facilitate swift replacement of existing VDR installations, regardless of make or model, on ships.

“Danelec Marine is widely recognized in the maritime industry as the premier manufacturer of fully compliant VDRs meeting the new IMO standard, ” said René ten Brinke, Director Global Services, Imtech Marine. “The new standardized price schedule leverages our global footprint in nearly 100 offices and more than 275 service locations around the world to ensure our customers get top-quality products with predictable, consistent installation procedures and pricing.”

“This agreement builds on the excellent working relationship developed over the years between our two companies, ” said Ottosen.

Danelec Marine and Imtech also have a strategic cooperation initiative for remote access to shipborne VDR data. Under this program, Danelec VDRConnect data can be directly incorporated into Radio Holland’s Global Technical Assistance Center (GTAC).
