Yesterday, Tuesday, 9 June 2015, at an event at the offices of the Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association-HSSA, the President, Charalampos Simantonis and the Board of Directors, handed to the Director General of HELMEPA, Dimitris C. Mitsatsos, membership application forms from Members of their union to the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association.
The registration of Members of HSSA to HELMEPA is the result of the decision taken by the General Assembly of the latter to create a new class of membership for short sea vessels.
Mr. Simantonis, expressing his personal appreciation and that of his colleagues for the work of HELMEPA, underlined that the Members of HSSA wish to participate in the initiatives of HELMEPA and attend its training programs. Mr. Mitsatsos received the applications and assured the attendees that HELMEPA, in cooperation with the HSSA, will offer its new members information and training pertaining also to the special issues relating to short sea shipping.
