Singapore, 17 June 2015 – Quantium Solutions (Australia) Pty Ltd is making its ecommerce delivery service to Australian customers even more convenient and flexible so as to further enhance online shopping experience through a new partnership with HUBBED Holdings Pty Ltd (“HUBBED”) of Balmain, New South Wales.

Quantium Solutions (Australia) Pty Ltd, which is wholly owned by SingPost Group, will invest in 30 per cent of HUBBED for A$4.3 million.

HUBBED, a one-stop ecommerce service aggregator, has built a network of some 680 newsagents to provide a parcel delivery service in every major city across Australia. To heighten customer convenience, HUBBED will also be offering parcel drop-offs and sale of delivery products in the near future.

Dr Sascha Hower, CEO of Quantium Solutions said: “Ecommerce is all about having multi-channels – for speed and getting parcels to customers at the times that suit them. People in Australia are busy and active, and working professionals won’t be home during work hours to receive their parcels. We want to make their lives easier by offering them flexibility – through CouriersPlease, they enjoy a nationwide door-to-door delivery service across Australia. Now with this partnership with HUBBED, Australians get another level of flexibility – they can collect their parcels through one of the many newsagents in the HUBBED network. HUBBED’s newsagents are a traditional feature of many suburbs and communities. They are super-friendly, close late and are open on weekends. Customers will now have more choice as they can pick up their parcels any time and at their own convenience.”

Dr Hower, who is also Group Chief Operating Officer of SingPost, continued: “We are investing to develop an ecommerce ecosystem to provide seamless access to customers in Australia, and growing markets in Asia Pacific. The ecosystem comprises end-to-end solutions from warehousing to convenient touchpoints, flexible doorstep delivery and track and trace features. This partnership with HUBBED, which complements CouriersPlease, will help strengthen our ecommerce last mile capability in the regional ecommerce logistics value chain in the region.”

On the prospects for the growth of ecommerce in Australia, Mr Mclean said: “Simply put its growth and more growth. The Australian Bureau of Statistics tells us that Aussies spent some A$10 billion in 2012 through online purchases and this is set to grow by more than three times to pass A$36 billion by 2016[1].”

Among other partners, HUBBED will continue to work with Couriers Please Holdings Pty Ltd, which is owned by Quantium Solutions. CouriersPlease has extensive last-mile coverage across Australia with depots in Eastern and Southern Australia.
