4 August 2015, Limassol, Cyprus – Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has recently announced the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer, Sebastian Graf von Hardenberg. Responsible for the organisation’s global financial operations, he is based in Limassol, Cyprus.

Sebastian brings with him extensive experience in the financial, corporate finance and risk management fields. Having previously served as Financial Director of BSM Germany in Hamburg, Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer at BSM in Hong Kong and Corporate Director Risk Management of BSM in Singapore, Sebastian brings with him strong financial knowledge and ship management experience.

BSM also announced the appointment of Giles Heimann as the new Corporate Director Human Resources

Marine, who will also be based in Limassol. Giles will oversee the human resource needs of the seafarer population employed by BSM worldwide.

With 30 years’ of experience in the maritime industry working both at sea and ashore, Giles has a strong track record in maritime HR management, with a specialisation in training and recruitment and marine, safety and technical operations, together with negotiation and establishment of seafarers’ terms and conditions of employment.

Prior to his current appointment, Giles was the Chief Executive Officer of the International Maritime Employer’s Council and has previously held senior positions both in the regulatory and ship owning sectors within the maritime industry.
