OVERVIEW
The Nautical Institute’s Behavioural Competency Assessor Course has been designed to provide industry guidance on competency assessment. This course is aimed at person/s conducting behavioural competency based assessments of seafarers on board vessels. The course gives them the skills, techniques and confidence to assess and record behavioural competency in support of company operations, to improve quality and reduce risk.
It is primarily intended for those conducting in service assessments of the behavioural competence of seafarers on board ships.
Modules include:
- Introduction to behavioural competency assessment
- The skills of an assessor
- The process of conducting an assessment
- Overcoming hurdles through case studies
