Retail Trade in Greece, May 2015
- Retail Trade moved positively in May 2015, which is an encouraging sign given that private consumption accounts for around 70% of Greek GDP.
- The seasonally adjusted Volume Index in Retail Trade increased in May 2015 3.9%YoY and 1.8%MoM.
- Compared to April 2015, the highest increases were recorded in clothing and footwear (+4.5%), department stores (+3.0%), automotive fuel (+2, 9%) and books, stationary and other goods (+2.5%).
- Food, beverages and tobacco was the only sector to record a decrease (-1.7%) in May 2015 compared to the previous month.
