Panama Canal – postponement of the second draft restriction

The first maximum authorised transit draft restriction of 11.89m (39 feet) TFW, announced in Advisory to Shipping A-24-2015, will still be implemented on 8 September and continue until further notice. Vessels arriving after this date with drafts over the above may be allowed to transit, depending on the height of the Gatun Lake at the time of transit.
Should the level of the lake continue to drop and additional restrictions become necessary, they will be announced at least 4 weeks in advance.
