With the support of Bloomberg, which was also the venue sponsor, the 10th Athens Stock Exchange’s London Road Show two-day event giving a platform to Greek companies ended earlier today. On all counts, it was a great success given the prevailing Greek, European and global market conditions, and, needless to say the perception of the international public! John Faraclas and Anny Zade report: For a start, more than 600 meetings took place between 150 fund managers and the 28 listed companies participating in the Roadshow: excellent!

During today’s events, a panel discussion took place under the theme “The Greek economy: Update and Prospects”; this was successfully moderated by David Powell, CFA, Chief Euro-Area Economist, Bloomberg Intelligence. Discussants and speakers included- in order of presenting their respective papers: Dr. Platon Monokroussos, Chief Economist, Eurobank Ergasias S.A., and Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Banks Association (20150911_MONOKROUSSOS_PRESENTATION ); Ilias Lekkos, Group Chief Economist, Piraeus Bank, ( Lekkos_london ) and Alberto Gallo, CFA, head of Macro Credit Research, MD of the RBS ( 20150911_GALLO_PRESENTATION ) . Moreover, last night during a cocktail reception at Novikov Lounge Bar in Mayfair, ATHEX presented awards to the sponsors of this year’s Roadshow: Alpha Finance, Beta Securities, Eurobank Equities, Euroxx Securities, Investment Bank of Greece, Morgan Stanley, NBG Securities, Pantelakis Securities as Piraeus Securities. Once again, Bloomberg was the hospitality venue sponsor. During the awards ceremony, special mention was made of four listed ATHEX companies which have participated in all ten ATHEX Roadshows, namely Viohalco, Ellactor, Intralot and Mytelinaios.

Finally, during the Roadshow, Socrates Lazarides, ATHEX CEO, and Constantinos Botopoulos, President of the Greek Capital Markets, were interviewed by Bloomberg TV. Very interesting points from both!
For our part, we maintain the view as in all our relevant written and live reporting on TV and other media that only via the Athens Stock Exchange can the resurrection of Greece’s economy and prosperity be projected, developed and materialised; it is about time we think ‘out of the box’ for the benefit of the Greek people, Europe and the world at large!
