Reduced operating schedules during Papal visit 26-28 September

The U.S. Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay has issued the following Marine Safety Information Bulletins (MSIBs) providing notice of reduced operating schedules for drawbridges during the Papal visit:Delair Railroad Bridge MSIB 32-15

 

Mantua Creek and Raccoon Creek Bridges MSIB 31-15

 

Tacony-Palmyra Drawbridge MSIB 30-15

Submarine Outfall Inspection Works off Sham Tseng
September 21, 2015, Hong Kong, Hong Kong
For approximately one week, submarine outfall inspection works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:-(A) 22 deg. 21.840’N / 114 deg. 03.902’E(B) 22 deg. 21.744’N / 114 deg. 03.916’E

(C) 22 deg. 21.741’N / 114 deg. 03.887’E

(D) 22 deg. 21.840’N / 114 deg. 03.872’E

 

The works will be carried out by a work boat. One guard boat will provide assistance.

 

A working area of approximately 25 metres around the work boat will be established. The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1700 hours. Vessels engaged in the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

 

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

 

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

 

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.

Unloading of precast units off Wan Chai
September 21, 2015, Hong Kong, Hong Kong
For approximately 9 days, unloading of precast units from a semi-submersible barge will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):(A) 22 deg. 17.456’N / 114 deg. 10.765’E(B) 22 deg. 17.308’N / 114 deg. 10.810’E

(C) 22 deg. 17.208’N / 114 deg. 10.596’E

(D) 22 deg. 17.343’N / 114 deg. 10.523’E

 

The unloading operation will be carried out from a flotilla of vessels including one semi-submersible barge, two crane barges, some tug boats and guard boats. The number of vessels engaged in the operation will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

 

A working area of approximately 50 metres around each barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barges.

 

The hours of works will be round-the-clock.

 

The precast units unloaded from the semi-submersible barge at the working area will be towed to the west of the New Wan Chai Ferry Pier for seawall construction.

 

Diving operations will be carried out during the hours of works.

Revised Entrance Channel depth

Maritime Safety Queensland advises that the design and actual navigation depth of the Entrance Channel at the port of Cairns has been revised from 8.3 metres to 8.0 metres.Other depths at the port remain unchanged.
