Submarine Outfall Inspection Works off Sham Tseng
Friday, November 13, 2015, Hong Kong
From 18 November 2015 and for a period of approximately one week, submarine outfall inspection works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 21.840’N / 114 deg. 03.902’E
(B) 22 deg. 21.744’N / 114 deg. 03.916’E
(C) 22 deg. 21.741’N / 114 deg. 03.887’E
(D) 22 deg. 21.840’N / 114 deg. 03.872’EThe works will be carried out by a work boat. One guard boat will provide assistance.A working area of approximately 25 metres around the work boat will be established. The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1700 hours. Vessels engaged in the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working in the area.

Draft change for Canal
Friday, November 13, 2015, Chesapeake & Delaware Canal, USA
Due to recently discovered sand waves just east of Chesapeake City, the maximum draft in the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal has been amended to 31 feet, at any stage of the tide.The Pilots’ Association for the Bay & River Delaware advise that under special circumstances, having calculated the stage of the tide and with the approval of the MD and DE pilots, the draft may be adjusted upwards on a case-by-case basis.The new draft restriction will remain in effect until the Army Corps of Engineers confirm that the area has been cleared to 33 feet.
