| A canoe race will take place on 21 November 2015 (Saturday) from Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung to Stanley Main Beach, Hong Kong Island. About 130 outrigger canoes are expected to participate in the race.The race will start off Clear Water Bay at 0900 hours and all participants are expected to arrive in Stanley Main Beach at 1200 hours on the same day, via South Ninepin Island and Cape D’Aguilar.Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. | Surabaya Harbour Master has released for discussion a proposed new draft restriction for vessels passing through the port’s new West Access Channel in the area of Pelindo III.The new regulation states: a) Vessels with the maximum draft of 7.7 M: Pass through the old channel b) Vessels with draft 7.7-8.5 M: May pass through the old channel at high water tide only. Pass through new channel at low water tide c) Vessels with draft over 8.5 M: Pass through new channelNo final agreement has been reached as yet on the matter, and port users have requested postponement for further discussion.The maximum recommended draft for vessels passing through the old channel is 9.5 M.Since 20 July 2015, the usage rates for the new Surabaya West Access Channel are: – Foreign vessels between 500 and 20, 000 GT: USD 0.4 per GT per one way pass; – Foreign vessels over 20, 000 GT: USD 0.5 per GT per one way pass; – Domestic vessels between 500 and 20, 000 GT: IDR 1.500 per one way pass; – Domestic vessels over 20, 000 GT: IDR 2.500 per one way pass. | 2015 Revetment work at Smoke Bend, MM 177.7 AHOP, is presently scheduled from 0600 to 1800 hours daily fromNovember 20, 2015 to November 27, 2015.The updated transit recommendations as proposed to promote safe vessel transits during mat laying operations at Smoke Bend are as follows: 1) All vessel traffic will be coordinated with the assistance of the VTS LMR and the Contact Pilot on the Matt Sinking Unit (MSU). 2) Southbound deep-draft vessel (ship) traffic will be limited to nighttime movements (1800 to 0600 hours) only commencing Friday, November 20 to Friday, November 27. 3) One-way vessel movements will be managed for northbound deep-draft traffic and for shallow-draft traffic in either direction from 0600 hours to 1800 hours.For information about operations in the USA contact GAC USA at usa@gac.com |
