Capt. Antonio M. Padrón y Santiago, “IMO Maritime Ambassador” and Maritime Authority of Tenerife held a meeting with a group from CANDELARIA SAFE BEACHES Training Program, accompanied by their teachers

During the meeting, the Maritime Ambassador explained the functions of his office, as a defender of seafarers, trying to encourage young people to consider a career at sea or in the
maritime sector with the aim to inspire a new generation of experts maritime and seafarers.

Also, the students visit the Headquarters of the Maritime Authority in Tenerife and the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) installations.

In this Project theoretical and practical training alternates with the actual work of the studentworkers.

After completing the course, students receive a certificate of professionalism of “Rescuer in Natural Aquatic Spaces”, in addition to providing specific modules of the professional certificate of “Rescuer in Water Installations”.

The objective of this project is to “provide quality services to users of the beaches of the municipality of Candelaria strengthening the services offered through the recruitment of 15 trainees to improve the quality of service of salvage and rescue, working on accident prevention, information for exercising healthy behavior in bathing sites and direct intervention in case of emergencies occur. “
