Shanghai location to support Chinese customer success and enhance country-wide knowledge of the benefits of paperless trade
Valletta, Malta, 20 April 2016: essDOCS, the leading enabler of paperless trade, announced today its further expansion in Asia Pacific with the opening of its first mainland China office in Shanghai.
In line with essDOCS’ strategy of providing a local presence in key markets, the opening of the Shanghai office further strengthens the company’s ability to serve its rapidly expanding China customer base.
“Opening an office in the mainland has been a core priority for us due to the swift growth in the use of CargoDocs in China over the past two years” said Alexander Goulandris, essDOCS CEO. “China continues to dominate global trade and we see our office there as central to providing a locally-responsive presence that supports Chinese customer success and improves local understanding of the far-reaching benefits of paperless trade.”
The Shanghai office will be led by essDOCS’ newly-appointed VP China, Mr Raymond Sham, who will spearhead the company’s expansion across the mainland, working closely with essDOCS’ other Asia Pacific offices, which currently extend to Singapore and Taiwan.
A seasoned professional with wide-reaching expertise in data and documentation automation, Raymond Sham posseses over 25 years’ industry experience, having previously worked in a variety of roles for mining conglomerate BHP Billiton in Hong Kong and China. Throughout the duration of his career at BHP Billiton, Raymond managed the Distribution Execution Team for Carbon Steel Materials, primarily focusing on Iron Ore in China, in addition to serving as Network Supervisor, Trader Manager and Contract Administration Manager. Prior to BHP Billiton, Raymond worked as Sales Administration Officer and System Coordinator for Aluminium Company of Canada (Alcan).
The Shanghai office becomes essDOCS’ eighth global office and its third location in Asia Pacific.
