03 May 2016: Global law firm Clyde & Co has today announced the appointment of Fanos Theophani as Partner in its Global Marine Group.

Fanos Theophani is a leading lawyer in the marine industry with 15 years’ experience. He joins from specialist shipping firm More Fisher Brown where he was a Partner.

Fanos’ practice focuses on the owner and charterer market. His clients are a combination of direct instructions from ship owners & charterers and their P&I Club insurers. The success of his practice has been built on close working relationships with the majority of the London and Scandinavian P&I market.

Andrew Preston, Partner at Clyde & Co, commented: “We’re delighted to have Fanos joining the firm. Clyde & Co is a full service marine firm and having Fanos on board further strengthens our ability to act for clients in a number of areas, especially P&I Clubs. Supported by the firm’s global network, Fanos will be an undoubted success.”

Fanos Theophani said: “Clyde & Co is one of the premier players in the global shipping industry and now has an unrivalled global platform. I am thrilled to be joining and growing my practice further.”

Clyde & Co offers the largest marine practice worldwide, with 50 global partners and 95 other qualified lawyers across 45 offices.

Clyde & Co’s Marine Group provides expertise to clients throughout the entire maritime industry: owners, charterers, P&I clubs and insurers, shipbuilders, salvors, financiers, port authorities and governments.

Earlier this year Clyde & Co further strengthened its Global Marine Group with the hire of Partner Andrew Gray, who joined the firm’s Singapore office from Hill Dickinson.
