Seabed characterisation survey
Tuesday, May 17, 2016, Singapore
From 16 May to 19 May, a seabed characterisation survey is being carried out north of Pulau S Emakau.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.55 of 2016, the survey is being conducted from 0900 to 1700 hours at the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 13.300’N / 103 deg. 45.600’E
2) 01 deg. 12.790’N / 103 deg. 46.585’E
3) 01 deg. 12.775’N / 103 deg. 46.325’E
4) 01 deg. 13.090’N / 103 deg. 45.625’E

The survey work will be performed by an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). The work boats will be used to deploy and recover the AUV.

A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.

Craft involved in the survey will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear of the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (West Control);
and
e) Communicate with West Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.

Construction of jetty at Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore

From 16 May to 15 November, work to construct a jetty at the Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (PCS) at Jurong Island is being carried out.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.56 of 2016, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 15.723’N / 103 deg. 43.687’E
2) 01 deg. 15.647’N / 103 deg. 43.722’E
3) 01 deg. 15.560’N / 103 deg. 43.538’E
4) 01 deg. 15.640’N / 103 deg. 43.502’E

The construction work will involve removal of rock revetment, piling work, form work and concreting work. A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area of the project.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 68 (Sinki Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sinki Control on VHF Channel 68 for assistance, if required.

Dredging at Sungei Pandan

The working period for dredging work at Sungei Pandan has been extended.According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.57 of 2016 dated 16 May 2016, the work is being conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – until 15 July, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18.076’N / 103 deg. 45.291’E
2) 01 deg. 18.091’N / 103 deg. 45.311’E
3) 01 deg. 18.009’N / 103 deg. 45.346’E
4) 01 deg. 18.007’N / 103 deg. 45.320’E

The dredging work will be carried out by grab dredgers held in position by spuds. Tug boats will be used to shift the dredgers. The dredged materials will be transported to the designated dumping grounds by split barges, which will be shifted by tug boats.

Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area of the project.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25 for assistance, if required.
