|Price increases from 1 July 2016|

|The following price increases have been announced at Australian ports, coming into effect from 1 July 2016:Geelong – Channel Access Charges
The Victorian Regional Channels Authority advise that the new base charge will be $0.43c/GRT (compared to previous rate being $0.38c/GRT). This represents an increase of approximately 13%.
Hay Point & Abbot Point – Harbour and tonnage dues
News of other cost increases coming into effect is expected and will be advised when available.

|Traffic to halt for yacht races|

|Public holiday for Democracy Day|

|The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday (30 May) a public holiday to mark this year’s Democracy Day celebration.The country’s ports & terminals will operate partially, as will Government agencies categorised as essential services (Customs, immigration, etc.).
Banks and government offices will be closed on this day, as will the GAC office (with on duty staff available by mobile phone). Normal work will resume on Tuesday 31 May.
