Ruscon integrates terminal operations in Novorossiysk

by admin

Ruscon LOGORUSCON, the leading multimodal operator in Russia, is integrating its terminal operations close to the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk in order to increase the efficiency of the operation.

RUSCON’s Novorossiysk and Yug terminals have been co-operating and using shared software since 2014 but this move will ensure that total throughput will increase and a greater range of cargo can be handled.

“The Yug Terminal is already undergoing an upgrade with the construction of a new warehouse and logistics complex, ” explains Dmitriy Kutateladze, Director Liner and Business Development, RUSCON. “The full integration with our other terminal in Novorossiysk will allow us to increase our throughput of aggregates as well as improve the efficiency of the warehouse and logistics operation.”

RUSCON LLC acquired 51% of Yug Terminal LLC in 2008 and moved to full ownership in 2011. The two terminals are located close to each other near the port.

RUSCON has recently installed an automated system for loading mineral fertilizers at its Novorossiysk terminal. The bulk cargoes are delivered by trains arriving from all over Russia and then loaded into sea containers or packaged in big-bags before being taken to the port for export.

RUSCON also handled almost 180, 000 containers through the port of Novorossiyk in 2015.

RUSCON has worked successfully in the Russian container market since 1995. Beginning as a liner agency, today it is among the top ten container transport companies in Russia and the CIS. RUSCON belongs to one of Russia’s largest transport holding companies,  DELO, which also owns several terminal assets in the port of Novorossiysk.

RUSCON group consists of seven companies in various fields of container shipping including agency, logistics and terminal operations. It is active in all of the major container ports and provinces of Russia, as well as in neighbouring CIS countries and overseas.

The group has ambitious plans to continue to expand its existing companies and to add new ones in order to meet the growing demand for professional transport services in Russia, the CIS and further afield.

RUSCON has announced a strategic target of doubling its container throughput and tripling revenue over the next five years. This will be achieved through consolidation of its vertically-integrated systems to enable seamless delivery of containers to any destination in Russia and worldwide.  RUSCON relies on its 1, 100+ staff and close partnerships with leading Russian and international transport companies to help it meets its targets.
