13th July 2016 – Peters & May Group is delighted to announce that it has signed a formal partnership agreement with the J Class Association. While the bespoke logistics business has provided its specialist logistics and shipment service to these legendary and beautiful yachts for decades, the company has now extended its support through a formal partnership with the Association.
The J Class Association was founded in 2000 to protect the interests of the Class, present and future. Secretary Louise Morton said: “We have a long standing working relationship with Peters & May and are delighted to welcome them as a Partner to the J Class Association. The Class relies on their professional expertise to move containers of equipment and stores around the world for the J Class fleet. This new global partnership signals an even closer working relationship with one of our most trusted providers.”
The 2016 season will see J’s including Velsheda, Lionheart, Shamrock, Ranger and the new J8 Topaz racing in America and Europe in the Candy Store Cup in Rhode Island in July, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo in September and finally in St Tropez at the annual Les Voiles de St Tropez regatta. The class will then move on to the 2017 circuit, kicking off with the St Barths Bucket, before setting their sights on Bermuda for the America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta swiftly followed by the J Class Regatta.

The J Class Association (JCA) was founded in 2000 to protect the interests of the Class, present and future.
In order to keep the J-Class fleet and races alive and to encourage new build yachts to enter the field, new Class rules were established for the construction of Replica Rebuilds from original plans.
In the present day, there is mixture of refitted surviving yachts along with a number of new yachts built to original hull lines with more yachts in build now and planning to be built in the future. The J-Class fleet currently comprises eight yachts: Shamrock; Velsheda; Endeavour; Ranger; Hanuman; Lionheart; Rainbow and J8 with a ninth, Svea, due to launch in January 2017.
