The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained another 41 points plus since yesterday reaching the 911 level, thanks to the Capers’ tremendous volatility. The USA election no matter the result triggers a big change. John Faraclas brief daily recap:
The Capers’ BCI 2015 gained 150 points now standing at 1,786 and no one knows where this volatility will lead.
The Panamaxes’ BPI had a modest plus figure, just 14 points since yesterday now reading 903.
The Supras’ BSI lost another four points and at 708 looks likely to go further down…
The Handies’ BHSO remained the same at 431.
All in all still a strange volatile dry market.
The Wets continued to fall; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and the BCTI (Cleans) lost six and 15 points respectively now standing at 659 and 409… CAUTION.
The price of WTI fell just below the US$ 44 and we shall see what happens after the elections in the USA as well as the course of Geopolitics in the Middle East.
Planet Ocean continues sliding to a messy situation and irrespective of the final result of the USA’s presidential election, we reiterate the view that we are all on fire with incalculable repercurssions.
As you all know we value the effect of the Geopolitical happenings as same completely change everything and influence the shipping trade and the maritime adventure in its entirety. until this moment covered – MIGRANTS, BREXIT, Syrian saga, ISIS, Greece and Europe, the Turkish aggression all over the Eastern Med… as well as the Chinese and other world events remain at the forefront!
As these lines are written, we haven’t any clear view available of who will be the winner – Mrs. Clinton or Donald Trump but the latest is that they are still neck and neck. Mrs. Clinton remains our favourite, but as said expect a USA basket-ball finale – you dead well know what I mean!
