The Stena Horizon

The Harris Pye Group has successfully completed refurbishment and rebranding of two key areas on the Stena Horizon – separate catering facilities for travel and freight passengers, The new Metropolitan Grill Restaurant and Freight Truckers lounge which were both unveiled to passengers on the 6th December sailing from Rosslare to Cherbourg . The new facilities have brought the vessel more in line with the offering of the rest of Stena’s Irish Sea fleet.

“We are delighted to have carried out the recent refurbishment and rebranding of the Metropolitan Grill area on board the Stena Horizon,” says Harris Pye’s Project Manager, Sean Anderson. “It’s the sort of challenge on which we thrive, we completed the works over a 9-day period whilst the vessel was in service on the Rosslare to Cherbourg route.

“Crucial to maintaining our installation window was the pre-manufacturing of the hot serving line, feature wall and back bar unit in our workshop in Llandow, South Wales whilst our installation team consisting of marine carpenters, electricians, floor layers and stainless steel specialists completed the remaining works on board which included new flooring, wall coverings, A60 & B15 doors, LED lighting, bar shuttering system & new bar countertops.

“This was an important project in order to create segregated areas for passengers and truckers, while also maintaining the same brand as the rest of the fleet so we are extremely proud to have worked with Northern Marine Ferries and Stena Line from design through to final completion and we look forward to working on future projects together.”

Jimmy Howey, Route Onboard Sales and Service Manager Irish Sea South, explains: “The new Metropolitan Grill Restaurant has opened onboard the Stena Horizon and the crew are really delighted at the finished product.  They’re excited to tell passengers about the extensive menu now available and about how delicious the food is.  This is a fantastic addition to the ship and it’s another great reason to travel with Stena Line. As well as this, we also now have a dedicated freight lounge which we know our truckers will be very pleased with.  I’d like to thank everyone involved in both projects and we are looking forward to a busy 2017.”
