The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost just one point today –  “thanks” to the Capers, and now reads 956 points; on a weekly basis though it lost 58 points since last week’s 1.014. CAUTION as geopolitics can be very explosive and in …return damage the markets further. John Faraclas’ daily and weekly recap:

The Capers were up on a daily basis with the BCI 2014 climbing up to 1,668 points – up 30, but losing 57 points on a weekly basis from last Friday’s the 12 May closing when the BCI stood at 1,725. Once again remind you that one size CANNOT and DOESN’T constitutes a market!

The Panamaxes fall continued. The BPI lost 24 points since yesterday and now stands at 870; on a weekly basis the loss was substantial; 122 points down from 922 of last week’s closing…

The Supras’ BSI was also down; five points since yesterday – now at 759 and 25 since last week’s closing when it stood at 784 points…

The Handies too on a downwards mode; minus two points since yesterday at 502 and minus seven since last Friday’s closing when the reading was 509 points…

You don’t need to be told again: caution as the Dry Market is unwell…

The Wets with mixed feelings; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 765 – plus eight and 516 minus seven respectively on a daily basis. On the weekly count the Dirties were up 17 points (from 748), and the Cleans down 29 (from 545…).

The WTI was up and close to the US$ 50 mark – to be precise at US$ 49,91 and at a stage it went a fraction over… we shall see. Last week it stood at US$ 47 and something… Three dollars is tooooo much for the poor masses worldwide!!!!

The World is about to enter a very critical and dangerous era with very surprising political – mainly geopolitical, business and conversely shipping situations; watch it!

In this environment those with skills and combined capabilities are the only ones to survive and go further. We have warned you numerous times and hope you get the message…

On Geopolitics now:

The MIGRANTS issue still on top; no excuses! Need to see an appropriate humane solution and NOT one sided policy. MIGRANTS from the Middle East should be sheltered in the Middle East countries that are outside of war, end of the story!!!

The Wars in Syria and Iraq continues against ISIS and amongst other functions there and Turkey must get the message, the West and NATO too! Nobody gives Peace a chance!!!!

Turkey has to come to terms with its neighbours and PARTICULRLY Greece. Today there have been 565 violations of Greece’s Airspace – overall the last month we have witnessed s surge that never ever before existed. CAUTION. Within Turkey things are getting sour and will get worse now that president Erdogan is the absolute leader for all positions… Greece’s president Prokopis Pav;lopulos visits Constantinople on Monday to meet the Patriarch Vartolomeus the first and looks likely to meet president Erdogan. The Greek president is there for the 25th anniversary of the Black Sea Cooperation Forum.

In Greece, the coalition tries its best to remain in power by assisting the lenders to collect the debt and simultaneously continue to strangulate the Greek public, pensioners included. Unemployment an tax is very high and at the end of the day, Greece’s best youths will become the developers of other nations’ economies! Time for all 300MP’s to step-down and allow a team of ARISTOS that we have proposed to deal with this anathema. The situation could back-fire for all! You can’t live in oblivion! We eagerly also wait to see this coming Monday the Euro-working Groups results on Greece, its debt et al; hold your breath…

Talking about Peace above, remind you the forthcoming meeting Monday and Tuesday when the Conference for Security and Stability is held on Rhodes. This Conference for Security and Stability,  will be attended by representatives from European and Arab countries, namely Greece, Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lebanon, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Libya, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia; can’t see Turkey around… Because of this Conference we might see an increase of violations from Turkey of the Greek and European Air and Sea frontiers…

BREXIT as said in previous reporting, is full of twists and turns.. We might see a hard exit, a tough BREXIT… In the meantime Mrs. May Manifest is there and the elections will give the appropriate reply to her authority. The Lady is there for a tough ride and she will win it!

What’s next for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange? As for the leaks, we need to see the causa proxima!!!!

What a great event that was of The Nautical Institute of the Command!

President Trump embarks for his first trip abroad; Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh, then in Israel– Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, then the Wet Bank before flying to Rome where he will also meet Pope Francis; In Belgium where in Brussels he will meet Belgian officials and participate in NATO’s summit. Back south to Sicily for the G7 summit. Let us see the end result as many will say: Hurray and others: Hmmm,  given the animosity between some nations in the Middle East. The world and particularly the world of shipping eagerly awaits the outcome of this visit and the end result…

In South America, Venezuela is in turmoil; watch it…

Brazil full of scandals still in high places… Wouldn’t be surprise for the outcome…

North Korea and its backers will regret it; end of the story

China intercepted an American plane a US WC-135 in an unprofessional way in East China Sea; Caution, Caution, Caution…

In Africa we have too many issues, from north to south and these must be curbed…

Down in far away Australia, the UFO issue takes on, still…proof of terrestrial activity though, a must!!!

That’s all for now, have a nice weekend and be on guard for any eventuality from Pirates and Terrorists where ever you are on Planet Ocean!
