Yesterday I was talking with somebody very close to me in the Baltic and expressed the view that “…the market will go up just a bit tomorrow…” to receive a wondering smiling reply “….you think John”, as well as Anny Zade’s wondering and smiling face too… understanding my market feelings… I am sick as a parrot that due to unforeseen circumstances I had to abort – although I had registered on time an interesting panel discussion on “Ship over-supply and accelerating sustainable recycling” at Norton Rose Fulbright, a well and timely organised event by Blue Communications, were a couple of friends including an alumni from my Spetses College participating – Dr. Nikos Mikelis… and my good old friend Dr. Martin Stopford. I was all geared-up and ready to strike with questions, but… anyway; I hope it went well – will let you know…if there were some good, bad, honest and pragmatic things/issues aired…
Back now to “our” daily … business…:
The BDI gained – hooray hooray, three points and now stands at 821 per our predictions, feelings and intuition. Geopolitics have really exploded crushing any other view the hoi polloi have expressed in the past. Besides, terrorism continued yet another day to create more than mess – this time it was Tehran in Iran in the news with an unprecedented attack…
Yesterday, as we have mentioned, 13 for luck was again today in front of us and the BCI 2014 gained another 13 points – now reading 1,379 points.
All the rest of the indices, were on a downward mode, with the exception of the BPI, the Panamaxes, remaining the same per yesterday at 783 points…
The Supras lost six points and the BSI now stands at 652 points.
The Handies’ BHSI lost five points and now reads 429…
Given the thirteen points rise of the Capers, remind you that one size does not create a market and this must be fully understood from all involved and stop this brokers’ talk – you dead well know what I mean…
The Wets also on a downward mode; the last published BDTI (Dirties) lost 15 points and now reads 718 points, and the BCTI (Cleans) lost a modest two points and at 546 rings the alarm.
The WTI remained under the US$49 dollars and looks crashing later on as now it reads US$46.05 with rumours saying for more losses; that’s good news but also bad news for others given what might happen in the Gulf…
The Geopolitical front remains the same – and the events in Tehran point to a possible conflagration in the region and beyond with Qatar being the scandal of the region… CAUTION
Migrants still on top…
Syria and Iraq with ISIS still there makes it more difficult… another hot issue coming up in the region is a proposed referendum in Northern Iraq by the Kurds there possibly in September; smelling gun powder in the entire region, as Turkey, Syria and Iran oppose such a move in the autonomous region there. The USA …follows suit, but…
Turkey tries best and plays the …super-power role but it’s only a paper tiger… with an uncharted future…
Greece is in real trouble unless all MP’s unite and end the siege created by Wolfgang Schaeuble and his likes… Who is behind all these manifestations and who created this “debt”?

BREXIT …“on hold” until we know the meaning of the results tomorrow night, given this very special and important general election Mrs. May has called! Only she can do it. People must learn to vote not by their heart, but by reality… and by what the projected future will bring in! These elections, whatever the result, will not only shape and reshape the United kingdom, Europe, but the entire Planet Ocean.
At the other side of the Atlantic, president Trump has to see some of his alter egos go… Ex-FBI chief James Comey will tell Congress tomorrow whether president Trump wanted a “patronage relationship” and asked for his “loyalty”…
