Port clearance at Khasab, Oman, for vessels in difficulty
Thursday, June 8, 2017, Khasab, Oman

The Port of Khasab, northern Oman, has agreed to issue port clearance to vessels having difficulties going into or coming out of Qatari ports. Under normal circumstances, issuance of a port clearance at Khasab for vessels calling only for the purpose of obtaining clearance is not permitted.

Please note the following:

  • Port clearance issued at last port must show next port as Khasab, Oman
  • The port has a 300 m quay with a maximum draft of 8.5 m. If a berth is available, clearance can be done alongside and if not, at anchorage
  • Services such as pilot & tugs are not available. Vessels wishing to come alongside will need to manage their berthing and unberthing. Linesmen will be provided.
  • As there are no crew launches in Khasab, if clearance takes place at anchorage officials will use available boat services for collection/delivery of documents.
