Andrew Main Wilson, CEO AMBA

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) presented representatives of the Copenhagen institution with the 100-years milestone award, recognising its century of achievement.

The accolade was bestowed in Dubai, at the AMBA Global Deans and Directors Conference.

Among the CBS delegation to the conference was Irene Rosberg, an evaluator for the Association, which is described as representing “the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education.” Ms Rosberg is programme director for the Executive MBA in Shipping & Logistics, known as the Blue MBA.

Copenhagen Business School benefits from the prestige of AMBA accreditation, in addition to the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation and that of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). This triple accreditation sets CBS apart from many others in postgraduate management education and ensures that its MBA degrees are recognised, respected and rewarded globally.

Adding to the CBS laurels, the Blue MBA programme was in 2013 granted accreditation by ACE Denmark which identifies world-class study programmes on criteria laid down by the Higher Education Ministry of Denmark.

The AMBA conference took place in May 2017 at the world’s tallest hotel, JW Marriott Marquis. Participating were eminent figures in management education who reviewed topics which will affect business schools globally over the next 10 years, under the conference theme Views from the Top.

On this, AMBA’s 50th anniversary, speakers covered six key themes: the MBA value proposition, entrepreneurship, active learning, globalisation, responsible management and digital learning.

AMBA, a charitable body, is the world’s only MBA-specific accreditation organisation, accrediting a select 2% of the world’s business schools. The network of MBA students and graduates, accredited business schools and MBA employers spans more than 110 countries.

The CBS Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics provides unrivalled insight into shipping economics, and modern management theories and their application in the maritime sector.
