The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained hooray hooray ten points earlier on today and now reads 830; the Geopolitics continue to be in a mess; John Faraclas’ daily market briefing:
Yesterday we hinted that we might see the market going for an upwards mode and it did happened…
The Capers lead the way with 25 points plus bringing the BCI 2014 to 755 points.
The Panamaxes managed to get eight plus points with the BPI reading 1,069 points.
The Supras’ BSI clinched a minimal four – now standing at 733 and the Handies’ BHSI just another three points …”raising” expectations at 477 points…
The Wets with mixed feelings as lately is the case; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and the BCTI (Cleans) stood at 651 – that’s two points plus, and 569 – that’s 11 points down respectively!
The WTI juts managed to surpass the US$ 44 – most of the day was trading just below this figure… at US$ 43.50-43.90… Caution!
The Geopolitics gets sour…:
The MIGRANTS – undisputably the number one issue, the Wars still raging in Syria and Iraq, Turkey’s stubbornness on many issues – the late failure of the Cyprus talk is entirely Turkey’s fault and the super powers succumbing to Turkey’s blackmail… Caution!
Greece still in dire straits and the pro-government media must ensure they don’t end one day in court with a tough sentence; equally the opposition must also curb its media supporters from populist blah blah! Europe is to blame for the entire Greek mess…
The BREXIT saga still on; the relations between the EU and Britain must, at the end of the day as things tell us, being those of respecting both sides workers’ rights after BREXIT.
Another important news though comes from the USA vis-à-vis the American election and the possible involvement of members of the Trump family and others with Russians. Caution as the aftermath in case rumours are true and Russians interfered will be devastating. The Russians are threatening the US with many acts given the sanctions and all that jazz with other issues. I am sure we will soon see the upcoming film: “Episodes of silly kind against humanity”…
