The BDI stuck @977; geopolitics take unprecedented twists and turns

Despite the fact that all dry indices were on an upwards mode, except the Panamaxes, the BDI (Baltic Dry Index) remained stuck at 977 points raising too many eyebrows…Geopolitics are so crucial that it remind me the song of the Creedence Clearwater Revival, “Have you ever seen the rain” – suggest you listen and that you understand the lyrics and its meaning, particularly the point “There’s a calm before the storm”… John  Faraclas’ daily recap:

The Capers’ BCI gained 17 points and now stands at 1,171 points; not bad for a volatile size…

The Panamaxes lost ten points and the BPI now reads 1,248 points… a bit odd but real. See the fixtures; the t/c trip doesn’t correlates with the period levels, not yet to say the least…

The Supras’ BSI at 814 – up two points; losing stream?

The Handies’ BHSI …finally made it to the 500 point threshold; at last…hooray! Every point counts!

The Wets on the up; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 655 – up six, and 550 – up two respectively. VLCC’s on demand and Chemicals too… The Rules are of paramount importance as well as geopolitics, as a possible flare-up in the Middle East and its wider periphery can change everything…

The WTI as these lines are written stands close to US$ 46.00 – actually US$ 46,02, following and upwards trend since noon BST today… Caution

The Geopolitics continue to be messy and as we predicted for example in the Middle East, things are getting according to our thoughts and intuition… CAUTION as things might get totally off hand…

The MIGRANTS still the number one issue all over Planet Ocean. Just for your info, to shake you up a bit, only in Lebanon as of the 31st of March 2016 there were 1,048,275 MIGRANTS from Syria alone; 53 centum of them are children. See what happens on the Greek islands as the Migrants there do not wish to return back to Turkey where they have been sent – to write the proper expression…

The Wars in Syria and Iraq with the ISIS and other functions continue as well as the various arrangements with “peace-keepers” – policemen from Russia to monitor so-called de-escalation zones in southern Syria. Turkey and Iran are in line with this decision…

In Amman, capital of Jordan, the latest events following unprecedented events at the Israel’s diplomatic compound, need appropriated handling as things might get off hand and lead to Israel clashing with Jordan… You never ever know… CAUTION at all costs…

Turkey continues blackmailing and pestering everybody and president Erdogan becomes a dangerous person for retaining peace in the region. Some months ago he had second thoughts for the Treaty of Laussane – now he thinks same is OKish… Who can trust president Erdogan? The Germans are trying hard to maintain a few centuries old relationship with the Turks (and the Ottomans) but it seems things are getting sour for these two NATO allies…

Greece, which celebrates 43 years since the restoration of Democracy needs to safeguard its Democracy.- The current regime in Athens and all the politician must come down to their senses before they come down to their knees; time please! You all have to leave as you all betrayed the 17,000,000 people worldwide – 11 million within and six million Greeks in Diaspora! Shame to all these so called Democratic regimes who brought Greece and its people to a despicable mess – financial and social…

BREXIT causes tremors and a longer process timewise might be on the cards!

And what about that man who attacked five people with a chainsaw in Schaffhausen, a small town in Switzerland???? Madness, settling old scores or what?

Putin’s Russia has its own agenda on the Crimea and Eastern Ukraine; don’t give a fist against the knife…

At the other side of the Atlantic, and particularly in the USA, the long standing saga with a possible Russian interference in the USA’s presidential  elections continues. Let’s see how the president’s son-in-law is clean following revelations which we must await for same either to evaporate or watch   another messy situation. Things can get sour for all involved, unless all these are a myth and or a  total misunderstanding…

In South America now firstly in Venezuela were things might get, as we predicted, off hand. Maduro MUST go! Moreover in a shanty town near Rio in Brazil, police officers’ relatives protested for the death of an officer there following the deaths of others before in soaring levels of violence.  Caution!

Off to Africa now; what’s up with Rio Tinto in the Republic of Guinea?  The UK’s SFO gets involved…

On another tone and note my mind and most of us who knew her, goes to Gillian Whittaker. She continues her trip to maritime eternity up there in the windy skies of our Galaxy; her birthday today of this immortal lady of journalism is with the Angels and the Greek Gods she adored! I am indebted to Gillian for her honesty and unbiased mind; we had a special bond since 1983 when, at a time that the Greek media and journalists begun to be in a mess and “ignore” Hellenes’s  projects and investments leading to much needed then  jobs and revenue for all, as the then Lloyd’s List correspondent she aired my demolition / scrapyard  / newbuilding / shiprepair / export hub / electric furnaces project, then worth US$ 500 (five hundred million) in Pyghes off Kavala, Northern Greece… and she did on many occasions since then on many other instances. Blessed; we really miss you! Iechyd da !!!!

Have a nice evening and be on guard for every eventuality emanating from Pirate and Terrorists!
