NORFOLK, Va. – Aug. 17, 2017 – (Marine NewsWire) The nominations deadline for the 2017 SHIPPINGInsight Award is coming soon, but there’s still time to submit entries.
The SHIPPINGInsight Award is given annually to a shipping company and its technology partners for the successful implementation of an innovative technology or initiative that advances the state of the art in ship and fleet optimization. The award will be presented at a luncheon on the opening day of the sixth
SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization Conference & Exhibition, Oct. 10, in Stamford, Connecticut. The winners will receive a binnacled captain’s clock in a polished wooden case with an engraved plaque.
Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 16, 2017, and should be in the form of a case study describing the project and quantifiable results. A panel of independent judges will review nominations and select the winner. Entry forms are available for download at www.shippinginsight.com/awards-2.
Recipients of the 2016 SHIPPINGInsight Award were Eagle Bulk Shipping and its technology partners Veson Nautical and Accuritas Global Solutions for a performance profile modeling project that provided an optimal way to determine the speeds and consumptions guaranteed in the company’s time charter parties. A certificate of merit was given to Neda Maritime Agency for becoming the world’s first shipowner to be awarded carbon credits through an initiative of its partner, AkzoNobel.
