Crew changes at SPM |
Wednesday, September 27, 2017, Cochin, India |
With effect from 25 September 2017, crew changes from SPM [are not being] effected by Cochin Seaport Immigration as it is at outer anchorage. The vessels berthing at SPM will no longer be boarded by Immigration authorities as well.
This is on the basis of instructions conveyed by BOI Head Quarters that no sign on/sign off of seamen is permitted at outer anchorage (Port lighterage area) except in exigencies like medical emergencies where sign off can be done after obtaining permission from the Civil authority and that in normal cases Immigration formalities should be carried out on arrival at existing berth.
