Around the Island Yacht Race
Wednesday, November 8, 2017, Hong Kong
A large-scale yacht race will take place around Hong Kong Island on 12 November 2017 (Sunday). About 250 yachts are expected to participate in the race.

The yachts will set off at staggered times between 0830 hours and 1000 hours off Hung Hom and Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter respectively, sailing around Hong Kong Island in a clockwise direction, and finish the race off the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter by 1730 hours.

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.

Port exempt from closure

The Port of Aden is exempt from the recently announced closure arrangements as it falls under the direct management of the Yemeni government and direct control of the Saudi-led Coalition.

The closure applies to ports under the control of Houthi rebels, namely the Red Sea ports of Hodeidah and Saleef.
