Extension of SOME 2018 Symposium Early-Bird Registration – It Ends on March 11!

SOME 2018 Symposium

March 20-21, 2018 | Athens GR

Dear SNAME Member, fiends and viewers of allaboutshipping

Even though the 6th International Symposium on Ship Operations, Management and Economics (SOME 2018) is in less than 2 weeks, SOME 2018 organizers are in the pleasant position to inform you that early-bird registration is still possible until March 11.

Thus, take no more time, visit the SOME 2018 website and register online. Grab the chance to attend a world class symposium at reduced cost!

The 2-day provisional program is now available, aiming at bringing together maritime economists, ship operators, technical and financial managers, naval architects, marine engineers, academics, classification societies and marine transportation policy-makers to discuss and debate important issues for the maritime industry.

Panagiotis Laskaridis, President of European Community Shipowners’ Associations and CEO of Laskaridis Shipping Co Ltd and Lavinia Corp. and Anastasios Papagiannopoulos, CEO of Common Progress and President of BIMCO will kick off both days by sharing their insight into the impact of recently-adopted requirements on shipping.

Special guest speaker John Hatley, Americas VP Marine Solutions & Director Market Shaping Wartsila North America, Inc., will talk about LNG Tipping Point and Shipping Competitive Advantage, while Oskar Levander, SVP Concepts & Innovation, Digital & Systems, Rolls-Royce Marine, will attempt to Redefine Shipping. Authors will present scientific papers.

The roundtable discussion on “Sulphur & Carbon: Can we Leave them Behind?” will address one of the top challenges, sulphur cap and decarbonization, by answering controversial questions, while the panel on “Shipyard Preparedness in Greece for the New Era” will look into the reasons why the community does not support shipbuilding activities in Greece. The expo hall will create unique business opportunities.

Can you afford not to attend such a symposium at reduced cost? If the answer is “no”, then register until March 11!
