The BDI fell eight points and now stands at 1,468; the Geopolitics will soon bring-in the worse tsunami never ever imagined in your wildest dreams. John Faraclas’ brief market and geopolitics recap:

The  Capes’ BCI was down  33 points and now reads 2,602 points… Let’s see the next few days what’s coming up…

Small fall for the Panamaxes’ BPI –  minus three points and now standing at 1,237…

The Supras’ BSI lost two points and now reads 1,053…

The BHSI at 586… hooray hooray, a point plus!!

The Wets diving too; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 656 – minus one and 540 minus two respectively…

The WTI as these lines are being written  stands at US$ 70.73… Still too high and as numerous times have stressed, same must by at a maximum US$ 49.99 – otherwise expect total mess!!!

The Geopolitical chaos begins to rule Planet Ocean with incalculable repercussions for all – just wait and see… Add also the Financial and Credit Crunch continuous crisis and see where we are getting at: a complete destruction of our Planet… I like the “agreements” on Climate Change and that of eliminating Co2 emissions  and all that juzz, whilst on the other hand we bomb our fellow humans and we attack them under the pretext of “law and order and security with despicable weapons”. SHAME. Of course the Shame and Condemnations goes to all provocateurs who trigger this despicable situations! Wonder how many from the faithful environmental regulationists made a promise for the Planet during the Earth Hour 2018 on the 24th of March at 20:30 GMT. Hypocrisy after all is another powerful Greek word…

The MIGRANTS are multiplying and given what happens these very crucial moments in the Middle East, expect an Exodus! Wonder how many lunatics we have who govern us. Let the shipbrokers run a Peace deal demo! Indeed we can… As we speak …err as you read these lines,  hundreds of MIGRANTS cross over to Greece and conversely to Europe from Turkey… Hundreds too are attempting the trip to freedom from northern Africa. I bet you one day there is gone be a bitter revenge from many elements from all type and nationalities of MIGRANTS… Once again we reiterate our view for a Naval Blockage, with a Mandate and Rules of Engagement! Who disagrees and why?

The Wars in Syria and Iraq continue with more atrocities from all sides as well as despicable explosions – in Iraq is an everyday issue with many innocent lives lost… The scene in both counties particularly in Syria is far worse than Vietnam!

On top of everything else we have the flair up – an expected one,  between Israel and Palestinians with the superpowers totally divided amongst them on judging the situation and sending warnings… and views…on whose is to blame… What a palaver… Expect the expected unexpected!!! The State of Israel  was established in 1948 on the 14th of May (yesterday) and “coincidentally” the USA’s embassy was moved to Jerusalem from Tel-Aviv the same date on this 70th anniversary. I wouldn’t have seen any wrong doing if there was just jubilations that after thousand of years the Israelis have a nation, but… the Embassy issue now will open the Aeolus winds… CAUTION!

Turkey is going through difficult times and the way chosen by its president at the end of the day will backfire. The intrusion in Syria, the plans even to invade northern Iraq, pestering Greece and Cyprus in a multiple of ways, always premeditated actions; champions in blackmail and one of the world’s worse Human Rights records. Today there were demonstrations in London during his state visit to the United Kingdom. CAUTION. Erdogan will do everything he can to remain in power.-

Next door Greece still in limbo both with its internal and international affairs. CAUTION here too.

The Balkans  in a mess too.  Expect developments which will create another spill over…

Today also marks the first day of the Ramadan.. CAUTION !

BREXIT still with many twists and turns…. Scotland objects totally to the move…

Expecting any minute a government in Italy but I guess there is a lot to be shorted out…

North Korea’s move to cancel talk with the South is not a nice thing to see; exercises with the American ALWAYS take place; it is NOT the first time… Does Mr. Kim Jong-un  has an agenda or not? The Singapore summit is approaching so he can discuss all issues with president Trump…. Can we expect another cancellation there? President Trump must act now very swiftly to strike a deal…

The other issue that the superpowers are “split” with is Iran… What’s next there?

On another tone and note down in Athens a very interesting event took place at the state-of-art Faros, of  Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre. Organised by the BCG (The Boston Consulting Group)  and titled “The Future Face of Shipping: Mastering the Digital Wave” the event was more than a success given its specialist nature and timing presented/delivered! We will revert tomorrow with a short write up.

That’s all for tonight; have a nice evening and be on guard from any eventuality emanating from Pirates, Terrorists and Criminals wherever you are on Planet Ocean…
