Testing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

From 21 January to 28 February, testing of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) will be carried out north of Small Craft Anchorage ‘A’.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.007 of 2019, the testing will be conducted between 0800 and 1800 hours daily within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18.480’N / 103 deg. 58.103’E
2) 01 deg. 18.566’N / 103 deg. 58.470’E
3) 01 deg. 18.400’N / 103 deg. 58.518’E
4) 01 deg. 18.313’N / 103 deg. 58.150’E
OPL 22 will deploy and recover the AUV by crane. A safety boat will be in attendance at all times to warn and re-direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of the working area.
The craft will exhibit the appropriate local and international day signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 12 (East Control);
and
e) Communicate with East Control on VHF Channel 12 for assistance, if required.
