City Lecture with Patrick Harker, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia
Washington is sending mixed messages about the health of the US economy. The Federal Reserve surprised markets in its policy meeting on Wednesday 30 January, announcing that it would put interest rate rises on hold. The Fed cited mounting risks to global growth, a reversal of the hawkish sentiment that some policy-makers espoused in December.
Patrick Harker, president and chief executive officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, will discuss:
- The US economy
- Global macroeconomic developments
- The Fed’s monetary policy outlook
Date: Monday 25 March
