Surging ahead with an eco-friendly Aframax design
In a joint development project, Korea’s DHSC and DNV GL have come up with a highly efficient LNG-fuelled Aframax design.
DHSC turned to DNV GL for the LNG-specific expertise the shipbuilder was lacking. The resulting design features a dual-fuel engine. Its two Type-C LNG tanks are safely placed in front of the crew quarters along with the LNG processing plant and bunkering equipment coming emission restrictions, is now available for building.
