The BDI@1,032; stagnation or lack of steam…
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) remained strangely enough unchanged given the odd figures of all indices which doesn’t match-up as it should have been on the plus! Geopolitics enter a weird phase; John Faraclas’ brief recap:
The Capes were up 11 points and the BCI reads 1,428!
The Panamaxes’ too were up; at 1,252 – plus nine still looks good given the market’s parameters and fundamentals…
One point lost from the Supras’ BSI now at 783…
Two points plus for the Handies’ BHSI now at 383…
But does these figures make the BDI stay at 1,032 points? Just wonder…
The Wets on a downfall, minor though and let’s see how the Aramco developments will build-up or not; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 697 – minus seven and loss of the 700 points threshold and 504 – minus one respectively…
The WTI as these lines are being written stands at US$ 62.87 (21:45 BST)…
The Geopolitical situation becomes weird.
The MIGRANTS still on top. An issue which on all counts will soon create more mess due to the beginning of the summer period with more arrivals in Europe from the Anatolian coast of Turkey – as president Erdogan “knows” how to punish not just the Greeks but all Europeans and from the northern coast of Africa, Libya in particular… Nasty and inhumane actions from despots and warlords – including high class professional traffics, criminals and terrorists! SHAME.
The faulty line from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa with the three main spots – Northern Africa, The Balkans and the entire East med / Middle East produces mess and instability all the time… Expect the unexpected coupled with Iran’s threats…
Turkey must come to terms with reality and abandon its dirty and provocative politics coupled with the dubious religious aspect. These are dangerous games and jeopardise Peace. Let’s see the outcome of the Helsinki talks between Greece’s and Turkey’s foreign ministers as well as the talks between the two countries military in Athens. Enough. Enough also from the despicable attitude of the EU and NATO. ENOUGH!
The European Elections are building up. Let’s see how same are being debated in the UK.
The BREXIT issue shakes up the entire British Political establishment. Pity though to see in my humble view the way the Conservative establishment’s attitude against Mrs. May!
