Volatile Capes’ triple-digit surge “boosts” the dry market

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) gained 42 points and now stands at 1,135 points thanks to the as ever volatile Capes… The Geopolitics remain more than crucial… with asymmetrical events to happen anytime now… John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:

The capes’ BCI gained a good 130 points and now stands over and above the 1,900 points threshold at 1,956; an expected “scenario”…

The Panamaxes falling ordeal continued with the BPI losing another eight points and reading 1,117 points… CAUTION…

The Supras’ BSI was up eight points at 728

The Handies’ BHSI was up six points – a good rise considering the one, two, three or even four points plus in the previous two weeks; at 428 feels “safe”.

All in all we are still 1,112 points behind/down since the end of December 2013 when the BDI stood at 2,247 points; that’s the harsh reality! Until we reach this levels with the appropriate correlation on the freight rates, lets keep our imagination down and our mouth shut! EWe are optimists but reality and pragmatism bites.

The Wets on the …”up”; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 668 – plus six and 492 – plus one points respectively.

Nearly two dollars up for the WTI; it ended up at US$ 53.90 – from US$ 51.92 yesterday…

You need to be an expert with three PhD’s at Geopolitics to understand the dirty games around you and avoid being a puppet and or a crony of the mega Business and Political Hooligans. Look around in the Horizon and you will see what we mean!

Expect despicable things to happen in all fronts and regions and remember that we have time-wise warned you long before… Caution as things will turn sour…

The Migrants top the agenda…

The faulty zone from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa involves, besides the North African mess, the Balkans tinderbox of Europe, the East Med/Middle East and Black Sea plus at least six dire straits… Imagine the unimaginable …

The East Med / Middle East will produce more mess as well as engulfing adjacent regions…

Elections and bankrupt nations, event blocks such as the EU!!! Add the Global Debt at US$ 250 (twohundredandfifty)  trillion and see what you get….

Add the Energy issues leading to Wars (yes in plural, WARS!)… AND don’t forget to add the Environmental mess with 2020 ante portas... Await to see what happens ..”then”…

On elections you have the United Kingdom messy Tory elections and what and how BREXIT ends up with, the Greek election too which can cause collateral damage elsewhere… Nad let’s see what happens with the repeat in Constantinople, today’s Istanbul, Mayoral elections…

The USA’s elections with president Trump on the offensive – in a way that as we get closer to 2020 it will become like a tempest, must be closely watched!

The EU needs also a powerfull head to get Europeon the safe side.

The G20 is coming up…

The Iran vs. USA affair can end up in a big mess…

China and the USA must ease down as with the tariffs things can get out of hand…

India in a new era but watch what will happen with Pakistan not juts over Kashmir but for other issues…

Venezuela disappeared a bit from the main news but the struggle continues.

Bolsonaro and Brazil must get their act together…

Japan is closely watching developments…

Africa still on the wild-side… Proxy wars and business mess continues… The passing away of former president Morsi in Egypt will be contested… Too many blur issues there with Turkey’s Erdogan accusing everybody on his late friend’s death…

Putin’s Russia continues his own agenda; see what’s going on in Syria and in the Black Sea with Ukraine as well as the build-up and intrusions / violations in Scandinavia and see what you get!

On another note and tone our team supporting Sea / Maritime Tourism and Shortsea shipping, ended a five day tour on the Greek Island of Tinos in the Cyclades, Aegean Sea, Greece. A comprehensive report will follow…

Everything is ready for Pireas 2019, one of the most important biennial events of Shipbroking and beyond which takes place in Greece 20 and 21 June!

Moreover remind you of the 9th Capital Link CSR event; ink  your diary for the  25th of June and ensure you make at the spacious Athens Hilton: http://csringreece.gr/forum/2019/   …and there is an award too…

That’s all for tonight, have a nice evening and remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
