Capes lift the BDI amid mega Geopolitical mayhem

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index)   gained 44 points and now stands at 1,179; the Geopolitical mess continues. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:

The Capes’ BCI went over and above the 2,000 point threshold at 2,051, that’s a good plus of 95 points!

Still losses for the Panamaxes with the BPI down seven at 1,110 points; CAUTION.
Another eight good points for the Supras’ BSI now at 736…

The Handies’ BHSI was up four points at 432!

Positive, even with a single digit figure for the Wets; the last published BDTI  (Dirties)  and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 677  – plus nine and 495 – plus three points respectively!

The WTI close to US$53.90.

The Geopolitics are so messy that one doesn’t know from where to start: The Politics? Dirty as ever… The Economy? Bankrupt and a mega recession is not just ante portas, it exists right now! Energy? The next wars will be 100 centum based on energy and water disputes! By the way whose responsible in protecting the European Union’s borders, particular the sea ones? The Environment? 2020 and other debatable issues will make it even worse…

Now what do you make on the four charged with murder for downing flight MH17, eh!  It’s almost five  years… and the truth must shine!!!! 2 9 8  people were killed following a missile hit over Ukraine…

Coming up the G20 on 28 and 29 June in Osaka, Japan; let’s see what happens there and beyond!

… and only nine days left before the Green Award 25 years Anniversary conference which will take place on Friday 28th June  2019 at the “Mainport Hotel” in Rotterdam, Netherlands. What would be the ideal future proof of the waterborne transport chain, addressing the societal needs and demands in harmony with economic sense? Following multiple successful Mare Forums over many years the Green Award Foundation decided to work together with the Mare Forum organizers in order to celebrate the Green Award 25 Years anniversary by means of a dedicated conference. An event NOT to be missed!

All eyes are focused on Pireas 2019, the super shipbrokers’ biennial forum which begins tomorrow at the YCG. Will revert soon with news

…and fresh news as twenty or so MIGRANTS are missing off the Spanish coast; just before finding that these 20 are missing, 2 were rescued from the same boat… The small boat come from north east Morocco. In a recent account/report by the Spanish Interior Ministry, during 2018 there was a rise of 57,500 illegal immigrants. the previous year 92017) there were 22,000 !! So what;s up: INCREASE INCREASE INCREASE and no action taken to halt this pandemic!!

Have a nice evening and remain on guard from actions emanating by Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean!
