Around the Island rowing boat race

A rowing boat race will take place around Hong Kong Island on 9 November 2019 (Saturday). About 70 rowing boats are expected to participate in the race.
The rowing boats will start at staggered times between 0800 hours and 0900 hours outside the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, then follow a route around Hong Kong Island in a clockwise direction, and finish the race at the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter by 1700 hours.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the race route should proceed with caution, giving practical consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 is mandatory.

A fresh low pressure area which formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a depression today (Tuesday 6 November).
The low-pressure area, formed over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of the Bay of Bengal yesterday morning, intensified into a depression during the early hours today.
Currently, the depression is around 950 km from the coast of Odisha. It is very likely to concentrate into a deep depression by Tuesday evening. It is moving west-northwestwards and then move north-northwestwards, towards Odisha – West Bengal coasts.
The fresh depression is expected to bring rain to several parts of coastal Odisha and West Bengal from Friday (8 November). Even though it is too early to forecast, early indications suggest that the storm could intensify further and make landfall in Odisha around Sunday late night to Monday dawn.
