Hello and welcome to the week’s Transformation,
Wind propulsion is the talk of the town at the moment, and DFDS announced it was testing one system on a vessel because it was simply easy and efficient to do so. Surely that’s the answer for any innovation that will transform our industry.
India’s announcement that it will ratify the ship recycling convention will be a great impetus for bringing it into force, but it still needs other signatories and a two year wait and Brian Dixon takes a look at the three start-up winners that Singapore said had won its Smart Port Challenge.
And finally in this week’s edtition – There’s one technology that is begining to be seen as a nuisance in the wrong hands – aerial drones. Ports are starting to crack down.
