Using Baltic Exchange data for financial settlement 

You may have seen a recent advertisement placed by the Baltic Exchange across the shipping industry press, highlighting its data licence policy.

Baltic Data is widely referenced in the maritime and financial markets. It is also used for the settlement of both physical and derivative contracts. It is clear that in some cases, users are unaware that a licence needs to be in place in order for the data to be utilised in this manner.

Please be advised that use of Baltic Data without the proper licence is a breach of the Baltic’s terms of use and Baltic Exchange Data Policy as well as an infringement of the Baltic’s rights in and to Baltic Data.  Read more
