Capes boost Dry Market whilst Wets still stranded amid perplexed and dangerous Geopolitics

The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) ended up at 1,894 points – plus 71 since yesterday – surpassing the 1,800 points threshold since las week, and 145 plus since last Friday the 26th of June when it stood at 1,749, all thanks to yet another surge of the Capes… All other sizes were up a bit, but it was an 85 centum Capes’ surge. The Wets fell overall and the party looks it is over… Geopolitics will soon turn Planet Ocean upside down and supported by millions of new unemployed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) will rock the boat. John Faraclas’ daily and weekly recap:

The Capes’ BCI was up 176 points since yesterday and now stands at 4,440 which is also 221 points since last week’s 4,219. Once again we reiterate the view that one size doesn’t dictate nor constitutes a Market. Capes become the most volatile size and “adhere” to continue, so ultra-caution should be observed. Don’t be fooled by the Capes…

The Panamaxes’ BPI continued its modest rise; 1,316 points today, up 59 since yesterday – surpassing the 1,300 points threshold and 60 since last week (26/6) when the BPI stood at 1,256 points…

Minor gains but gains for both the Supras and the Handies; the BSI was up eight points and now reads 70 surpassing the 700 point threshold… On a weekly basis the Supras were up 23 points from las week’s 678. The Handies clinched four points and now read 412 with the weekly gains being 23 points – up from 389, surpassing the 400 points threshold!

The Wets stranded and with that, the party might be over unless a geopolitical conflagration in Central and Eastern Med boosts the rates… The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 471 and 382 – plus seven and minus eight points respectively with the Cleans losing the 400 point threshold since las week when the BCTI stood at 407 points… All in all the Dirties gained four points since last week’s 467 points and the Cleans were minus 25 points from 407 points (26/6)… CAUTION.

The WTI stood at US$40.55, which is US$ 2.06 higher since last week’s US$ 38.49. CAUTION as anything above the US$ 40 is simply catastrophic…

On the Geopolitical front now the main issues:

MIGRANTS with soon to witness the start of arrivals from the Anatolian Coast of Turkey to the Greek Islands and from Libya to Italy and its islands… CAUTION.

Turkey is about to rock Peace in both Central and East Med including the Balkans… Wonder how the EU will counter or they really side with Turkey despite the latest French – Turkey episode… France will not back off, as if it does, it will be the end twice…

France in political turmoil with its PM resigning…

The EU and the UK still at loggerheads over BREXIT…

The USA in an uneasy situation following racist’s accusation, which also spread abroad but… Let’s see what happens tomorrow with USA’s Independence Day, the famous 4th of July…

Meantime the USA looks ready to confront China in the south China Sea… wait and see the built up there…

CAUTION for Hong Kong…

Financially Planet Ocean needs to eliminate, one way or another its US$ 260(twohundredandsixty) trillion Global Debt…

Coronavirus (COVID-19) the “manna” from Heavens for Politicians and there cronies to hide their sins…

Tourism’s mess continuous… Air Travel is dubious putting people’s lives at risk… CAUTION as one day the shit will hit the fan…

See our yesterday’s coverage with a macabre story about a deceased seafarer…

Have a nice evening and weekend and continue to remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean.  Once again a big THANK YOU to all who really care for all humans – Doctors, Nurses, Seafarers, Dockers, Port Authorities et al during this Coronavirus disaster!! We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let’s work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 260 (twohundredandsixty) trillion… Mind the coming full moon on Sunday…
