The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) continue its loop, thanks to another triple-digit fall of the Capes and now stands at 1,732 points, down 75 since yesterday. We are optimistic but pragmatic too. It might be the week of discontent, possibly the month of discontent, so brace! Geopolitics do not surprise us at all; ruled by hypocrisy and greediness, Planet Ocean will witness the worse to come due to the Turkish president’s blackmail tactics, who expects to surpass the success of all previous Turkish and Ottoman leaders put together. Coronavirus’ lockdowns loom in the background; CAUTION. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:
The BDI lost its 1,800 points threshold as the capes’ BCI was down 222 points at 3,074 points – losing the 3,200 and 3,100 points thresholds… As said in previous coverage: A Shakespearean Tempest!
Minor losses for the Panamaxes’ BPI now at 1,436 points – down seven…
No change for the Supras’ BSI – still at 82 and wonder what happened and missed the 1,000 points psychological point.
A “good” plus two points for the Handies’ BHSI now at 598… Let’s hope for the 600 plus; you never ever know, but…
“Down” with …the Wets… The last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 410 0 no change and 351 – minus six points respectively… C A U T I O N!
The WTI was up 63 cents since yesterday and now reads US$ 40.13… Bad news… as it looks it might climb further upsetting 7.7 billion people lives (out of 7.8) and well-being!
On Geopolitics:
MIGRANTS, MIGRANTS, MIGRANTS: Who can solve this problem? I guess no one wants to get involved from all these hypocrites and alleviate us all from this inhumane “pandemia”… Nemesis though will do one day!!! We have once again expressed our view by reminding you all on our findings five plus years ago…

Turkey worsens the situation with its megalomaniac president but also all in the Turkish Parliament and soon will pay a hefty penalty as well as is hypocrite backers. Despite “notices” from the EU and the USA – “include” NATO, president Erdogan will blow everything up. He’s the champion of destruction and blackmail. Only those of us emanating from the Shipping and Shipbroking Fraternity can humiliate him and his likes AND backers on a TV live debate. And its NOT just Cyprus or Greece and the other counties that border with Turkey that he’s at odds, he’s at odds with everybody. He needs to be ousted one way or another for continuous crimes against humanity including his own people. His research vessels are out again pestering the Cypriot and Greek EEZ – AND conversely that of the European Union. SHAME! Be on guard and watch this space. He’s ready for another bloodbath and genocide! Armenians and their forefathers know best…

At the other side of the Atlantic what enfolds is the more than interesting with the presidential elections in the USA. Bidenomics or Trumponics, one thing is for sure: the USA turns a new page no matter the winner, and this is serious as it will affect billions of people all over Planet Ocean…

Africa? As per our last: in tatters. Pi as the African 1,5 billion people should had a better future, but with the proxy trade and other Wars there and China’s involvement things might get more than sure…

Finally, the Coronavirus anathema, not only hits back and surges further and beyond, will cause a greater catastrophe for all and to all intents and purposes. Lock-downs and Curfews will be the NORM. Watch this space… Just to remind you that: without a coherent and humane medical policy we will lose millions… We are very much concerned with Seafarers as there wasn’t any appropriate policy from the politicians and authorities as well as organisations, particularly on Crew Changes!!!! SHAME!!
Shipping, as we have numerous times stressed, is becoming with the addition of the Coronavirus anathema, the state of the Dry and Wet Markets – AND Oil / Energy mess, SHIPPING for the very, very, very few… Did I hear you say Maritime Tourism? Whatever happened to the Cruise Industry… Whatever happened to Aviation… Whatever happened with education at all levels, eh??? and !!! Ah! Banking??? The forthcoming War on Water?

We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let’s work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 270 (twohundredandseventy) trillion…-
N.B. or P.S.: On all counts, it was A Tuesday 13 for the Greeks – the equivalent of Friday 13th of the “Western” world, given the daybreak cataclysm in Athens…
